Provo is famous for many things – Brigham Young University, the city’s temple, and proximity to Salt Lake City are probably the most obvious. However, there are tons of other things to love about the town. Provo Canyon is an incredible place to explore. It is filled with natural beauty and plenty of options for exploration and enjoyment, whether you want to go hiking, or get out on the water. Bridal Veil Falls is well worth a visit, and you should make sure that you bring your camera on the trip. Cascade Springs is smaller and not quite as well known, but no less enjoyable or beautiful. There’s also the Y Trail, which offers plenty of opportunities for enjoying Utah’s stunning natural beauty. Don’t miss Rock Canyon if you want something a bit less well-known.
If you’re interested in history more than getting out doors, there are lots of options available to you, many of which are tied to the university in one way or another. For instance, the BYU Museum of Paleontology is a great place to learn about ancient life on earth, including dinosaurs. Make sure to include the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum on your itinerary.
For those who enjoy art, we would recommend a visit to the Museum of Art at Brigham Young University. The Covey Center for the Arts in Provo is also a prime destination for art lovers.
Want something a bit more entertainment-oriented? If so, take a trip to Provo Beach – one of the top rated water parks in the area. There’s also Seven Peaks Resort Water Park where you can get wet and wild during the warmer months of the year.

Finally, if you want to take in some of the most iconic local landmarks, there are three that you should not miss. One of those is the Provo City Center Temple, located right down town. You should also pay a visit to the university while you’re in the area. Finally, the Provo Utah Temple is also worth a visit, whether you subscribe to the Mormon faith or not.
