There are also many parks, tons of shopping, and a thriving baseball club in this town. If you’re from the area, the Gwinnett Braves are your team! The area also roots for the Gwinnett Gladiators ice hockey team, something that many of the residents of Lawrenceville love to gather for.
The main attraction that Lawrenceville is noted for is the Atlanta Castle, a medieval dinner theatre show where you’ll see a live tournament, complete with knights on horseback jousting for honor while you enjoy a great meal. This is a ton of fun for families, and it brings in people from all over the Atlanta area. Lawrenceville is home to a variety of historic battle sites as well, making it a great place for history buffs to hang out. Whether you want to go shop the Sugarloaf Mills Mall or take a walk on the paranormal side, this is a very charming suburb with a small town attitude and big city attractions! We can definitely recommend Rhodes Jordan Park – the water park is great, but don’t miss out on the fun offered by the 22-acre lake and surrounding land. You can also take in a show or enjoy any of a number of annual events held on the Lawrenceville Lawn, which opened in 2014.
If you’re more of a sports enthusiast, you might want to head over to the Infinite Energy Center to catch a hockey game, although there are plenty of other events held here throughout the year. The Gwinnett Center is also a great place for sports fans, and you’ll find CoolRay Field is another great option.
As a note, check out the food truck gathering spot right near CoolRay Field for some fun, tasty bites before or after a game. A quick drive of less than a mile will also let you explore all there is in the Mall of Georgia, which is actually in neighboring Buford, but is close enough to see from the sports field.
