You can hang glide or paraglide at the largest hang gliding school in the nation right in Draper, and that is just the start. What we truly love about Draper is the community atmosphere. The city styles itself as the perfect place to raise a family and community effort is a big part of what makes this a great place for starting out. The community garden, for example, is a place where locals work together to grow their own food on city-owned property, making fresh organic produce something that all families in Draper can enjoy. The city also maintains more than 35 parks available to the public. One of the most popular attractions is the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium – the underwater tunnel is a huge draw for kids and adults alike.
Of course, there are other parks and nature-oriented attractions in the surrounding area. A few minutes of driving will take you to Storm Mountain Park in nearby Sandy, or to the RioTinto Stadium. Eastridge park is also very popular.
Being outdoors is a way of life in Draper, evidenced by the busy music performance schedule of the amphitheater, where they also show outdoor movies during the summer. The city operates a variety of recreational programs for kids all year long, and there is a big focus on both arts and history in the city. Getting around the city is crucial for being involved with all of these great programs, both for young professionals and families.

Then take the family out to Cowabunga Bay, where you’ll find 1,500 feet of water slides and a ton of fun for the entire family. The mayor even has a youth council, where teens can gain valuable experience with local government and civic education. Volunteerism is something that is seen all across the city, making this a very pleasant place to enjoy the American dream.
