We have to admit that we’re big natural history buffs, and the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is one of our favorite places to visit. There are tons of other museums in the Tucson area, though. Love antique cars? Then check out the Franklin Museum. Have a passion for the history of the Wild West? Then the Museum of the Horse Soldier might be worth investigating. The Mini Time Machine Museum is also a lot of fun. You’ll discover plenty of other museums in town, too, like the Jewish History Museum, and the Tucson Museum of Art, or the Arizona History Museum.
A drive down the Mount Lemmon Scenic Byway is always worth your time, and we’re pretty fond of spending time down around the Sabino Canyon rec area, as well. Head out and explore Saguaro National Park, take time to experience Tohono Chul, or explore Rillito River park and Agua Caliente Park if that’s more your thing. The Tucson Botanical Gardens are stunning throughout the year, and Tanque Verde Falls are well worth the visit.
Of course, we’re not above getting our wine on, and the Sonoita Wine Tour is a blast if you’re a fan of the vino. When it comes to taking in the culture of Tucson, we’ve been known to spend time at the Gaslight Theatre, as well as the Fox Tucson Theatre. The science fans on our staff have great things to say about the Pima Air and Space Museum, too.
If shopping is more your thing, then check out La Encantada, or head over to Park Place for some mall time. The Tucson Mall is also a fun way to while away the afternoon, but don’t miss the Old Town Artisans sector for some authentic handicrafts and handmade goods.
