If you’re looking for a sporting fix, head over to Surprise Stadium where you can watch minor-league games all season long. While it’s located farther away, the Peoria Sports Complex offers even more chances for sports enjoyment. If you want something a bit more individual, then the Bell Recreation Center in nearby Sun City is the place to go, particularly if you want to get your swim on. In town, you can visit the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex, or the Surprise Aquatic Center.
If you’re looking for wholesome family fun in town, make sure you spend some time at Bell Lanes, although you’ll need to drive about three miles to Sun City West. Of course, there’s also Uptown Alley. This is far more than just another bowling alley. You’ll find 40 lanes of bowling, sure, but you also get to play pool, enjoy laser tag, or spend some time in the sports theater.
For those with a desire to hit the links, the Union Hills Golf and Country Club is within easy reach. You can also consider Granite Falls Golf Course, and Coyote Lakes Golf Club, all of which are located right around town. Additional golfing options include the Sun Village Golf Course and the Arizona Traditions Golf Course.

During the cooler months of fall, make time to check out the Second Sunday in the Park celebration. The town puts on a musical performance in the downtown park on the second Sunday of the month from September through the first blush of spring. There’s picnicking allowed, and you’ll also find plenty of food and drink vendors on offer.
Of course, there’s so much to see and do in the wider area. Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and the rest of the greater metro area offer just about anything you might want to do. The Rio Vista Recreation Center in Peoria gives you a way to unwind and relax, but you can also spend the entire day shopping, dining, and movie-watching at the Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale.
The University of Phoenix Stadium is less than 10 miles from Surprise, but you can also hit Camelback Ranch, or the Gila River Arena in the same distance.
